Fancy getting involved?
One of the goals central to Spoonie Survival Kits is creating accessible volunteering opportunities for people with disabilities and long-term conditions. If you’d like to get involved, do get in touch and let me know if there’s anything in particular you had in mind; together, we’ll create a Volunteer Agreement suitable for your health needs. If you’re chronically ill/disabled and need work experience, placements or references, we might also be able to find something for you. In the past, we’ve had volunteer crafters who make gorgeous items for our kits, graphic designers, administrators and web designers, all of whom make an incredible contribution to SSK.
We do on occasion also offer temporary and ongoing employment opportunities: these will be advertised on social media as and when the opportunity arises. If you are an advanced and experienced crafter, or run a small business, and think your products might be suitable for one of our kits, feel free to drop us an email with examples of your work: we can’t promise anything, but we’ll see what we can do.
Want to collaborate?
If you’d like to speak to one of the SSK team or our fabulous volunteers about potential collaborations, please contact us. In the past we’ve been very lucky to have had advocacy opportunities for various purposes, including press and media campaigns. We’re so grateful for any opportunity to raise awareness of both SSK and chronic illness: do say hello and I’ll put you in touch with whoever is most appropriate for your project.
As much as we would like to, we cannot provide free kits or products to anybody, including bloggers. Fundraising is our goal, and so all products must be purchased through the appropriate means. I’d be very grateful if those reading this could take this on board and refrain from contacting us with PR requests, and I thank you in advance for your understanding. We do, however, run little giveaways on occasion: make sure you’re following all of our social media for the chance to win!
